John Paoletti

John Paoletti is professor of art history and the William R. Kenan Professor of the Humanities at Wesleyan University. Co-author of Art in Renaissance Italy, a standard text on the subject, he has also published widely on issues of patronage and on Michelangelo, and is currently completing a book on Michelangelo's David. He also writes on American and European art since 1945 and has been a guest curator for exhibitions at the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Yale Center for British Art, and at Wesleyan. Both Wesleyan University and the College Art Association, the professional organization of his field, honored him with distinguished teaching awards, and he has been a fellow at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
